Redeem the Pro Apps Bundle for Education

After you purchase the Pro Apps Bundle for Education, redeem the five content redemption codes you received in an email from Apple, then download the apps in the bundle.

The Pro Apps Bundle for Education includes Final Cut Pro, Motion, Compressor, Logic Pro, and MainStage — all optimized for macOS and the latest Mac computers and Apple displays.

After you purchase the bundle, you'll receive two emails from Apple about the bundle in one to three business days. The first email contains a password that you use to open a PDF, which is attached to the second email. The PDF contains separate codes that you use to redeem and download each app in the bundle. The PDF also contains the license agreement for each app.

It’s important to redeem all five codes so all the apps in the bundle are associated with your Apple account. That way, you can update the apps in the future and install them on your other Mac computers.

If you purchased the Pro Apps Bundle for Education pre-installed on a Mac, you won’t receive content redemption codes. Instead, you will have to adopt the apps.

Redeem your codes in the App Store on your Mac

To redeem the codes from the PDF you received from Apple, make sure to sign into the Mac App Store using the Apple ID that you want to associate with the apps. After you successfully redeem a code for an app in the bundle, the app automatically downloads from the Mac App Store.

  1. On your Mac, go directly to the code redemption page of the App Store. Or you can:

    • Open the App Store.

    • Click your name or the sign-in button in the sidebar.

    • Click Redeem Gift Card.

  2. If prompted, sign in with your Apple ID.

  3. Enter one of the 12-digit codes from the list of content redemption codes provided in the PDF you received in the email from Apple, then click Redeem. You can’t use the camera on your Mac to redeem these content redemption codes. You have to enter the codes manually.

  4. If prompted, sign in with your Apple ID.

  5. While the app you just redeemed downloads to your Mac, click Redeem Another Code, then enter the next code.

  6. Continue until you've redeemed the codes for all the apps in the bundle.

Your Pro Apps are ready to use after you've downloaded them to your Mac.

If you haven’t received the emails with the content redemption codes

If you haven’t received the content redemption codes for your order in one to three business days from when you placed the order, or you need Apple to resend the emails, contact the Apple Online Store at (800) MY–APPLE (800–692–7753). You’ll need your order number, which begins with the letter W and is located at the top of the Order Acknowledgement email. That email includes ”We’re processing your order” in the email subject line in case you need to search for it.

If you can't redeem a content code

  1. Verify that your Mac meets the minimum system requirement for the app whose code you want to redeem:

  2. Choose Restart from the Apple menu  to restart the Mac.

  3. Sign out, then sign back in to the App Store on your Mac:

    • To sign out, choose Store from the App Store menu bar, then choose Sign Out.

    • To sign back in, click Sign In at the bottom-left corner of the App Store window, then enter your Apple ID and password. Use the Apple ID that you want to associate with the app.

  4. Try to redeem the code again. When you enter the code, make sure to enter the correct letters and numbers. Some letters and numbers can look alike.

If you need to install or reinstall the apps that you already redeemed

  1. In the App Store on your Mac, click your name in the bottom-left corner, or click Sign In if you’re not already. Sign in with the Apple ID you used to redeem the bundled apps.

  2. Locate the purchased app you want to install or reinstall, then click the Download buttonthe Download button .
