View and limit your child or teen's Apple Cash activity

With Apple Cash Family, you can view your child or teen's balance and transactions, choose who they can send money to, and lock their account.

View and manage your child or teen's Apple Cash account

  1. On your iPhone, open the Wallet app and tap your Apple Cash1 card.

  2. Tap the More buttonthe more icon, then tap Apple Cash Family.

  3. Tap the child or teen's name.

If you're the Apple Cash Family organizer

You can:

  • View your child or teen's Apple Cash balance.2

  • View your child or teen's transactions.

  • Choose who your child or teen can send money to:3

    • Everyone: no restrictions

    • Contacts Only: anyone that's added as a contact for your child or teen*

    • Family Members Only: anyone in your family group

  • Turn on "Notify Me When [name of family member] Makes Any Transaction" to receive notifications when a family member makes a transaction.

  • Lock Apple Cash so your child or teen can't make purchases or send and receive money.

*You can use communication limits in Screen Time to manage their contacts and set other limits.

If you're a parent or guardian who's not an organizer

You can:

  • View your child or teen's Apple Cash balance.

  • View your child or teen's transactions.

  • Turn on Notify Me When [your family member] Makes Any Transaction to receive notifications when they make a transaction.

View your child or teen's transactions

  1. On your iPhone, open the Wallet app and tap your Apple Cash Card.

  2. Tap the More buttonthe more icon, then tap Apple Cash Family.

  3. Tap the child or teen's name.

  4. Tap Transactions to view their transactions.

If you're the family organizer, you can tap Request Transaction Statement to request a copy of your child or teen's transactions. The transaction statement is sent to the email associated with the organizer's Apple Account.

If your child or teen is over 18 years old and they take ownership of their Apple Cash account, you won't be able to view their Apple Cash activity.

  2. Transactions and comments sent by children using Apple Cash Family are visible to parents, guardians and the family organizer. Adding Apple Cash into third party financial management services gives those services visibility into the account activity they request access to.
