
Mark a location with a pin in Maps on Mac
You can drop a pin at any location to get directions or keep track of it as you move the map. A pin is temporary unless you save it.
Note: Pinned locations are end-to-end encrypted and cannot be read by Apple.
Drop a temporary pin
- Go to the Maps app  on your Mac. on your Mac.
- Control-click a location, then choose Mark Location. - Maps drops a pin  at the location on the map. You can have only one unsaved, marked location on the map at a time. at the location on the map. You can have only one unsaved, marked location on the map at a time.
Save and name a pin
- Go to the Maps app  on your Mac. on your Mac.
- Control-click a location, choose Mark Location. 
- Click Pin in the place card. 
- To rename a pin, click Pinned in the sidebar, click  next to the pin, then do one of the following: next to the pin, then do one of the following:- Click the name field, then enter a new name. 
- Select “My home,” “My work,” or “My school.” - Tip: Your home, work, and school addresses are identified with special icons on the map. To add these addresses to the Contacts app, select Add to Contact Card.

Adjust the location of a pin
- Go to the Maps app  on your Mac. on your Mac.
- On the map, click the pin you want to move, then click Move. 
- Drag the map to place the pin, then click  . .
Remove a pin
You can remove a pin  that you drop.

- On a trackpad, swipe left with two fingers on the pin, then click Delete.
