  • Antenna tool

  • ESD-safe tweezers

  • Nylon probe (black stick)

  • Torque driver (blue, 0.65 kgf cm)

  • Pentalobe PL1.1 44 mm half-moon bit

  • Torx Plus 3IP 44 mm half-moon bit

  • Torx Plus 5IP 50 mm bit

Removal

Note: If you’ve already completed the removal steps, skip to reassembly.

  1. Use the blue torque driver and 3IP bit to remove one 3IP screw (923-13449) from the antenna coaxial cable grounding clip (1) and two 3IP screws (923-13446) from the antenna coaxial cable connector cowling (2). Remove the cowling and save it for reassembly.

  2. Use the antenna tool to lift the end of one antenna coaxial cable off the connector. Then repeat the process for the other two antenna coaxial cables.

  3. Use the blue torque driver and PL1.1 44 mm half-moon bit to remove the nine PL1.1 screws (923-14220) from the vent/antenna module.

  4. Use the 10–34 Ncm adjustable torque driver and 5IP bit to remove the two long 5IP screws (923-14221) (1) and the four short 5IP screws (923-14222) (2) from the vent/antenna module.

  5. Lift the vent/antenna module out of the top case.

Reassembly

  1. Position the vent/antenna module in the top case.

  2. Keep the 5IP bit in the 10–34 Ncm adjustable torque driver. Set the torque value on the adjustable torque driver to 13 Ncm.

  3. Use the adjustable torque driver and 5IP bit to reinstall six 5IP screws into the vent/antenna module as shown.

    • Two long 5IP screws (923-14221) (1)

    • Four short 5IP screws (923-14222) (2)

  4. Use the blue torque driver and PL1.1 bit to reinstall the nine PL1.1 screws (923-14220) into the vent/antenna module.

  5. Position the ends of the antenna coaxial cables over the three connectors. Then use the blunt end of the antenna tool to press the ends of the antenna coaxial cables to the connectors.

    • Note: You may need to use the black stick or ESD-safe tweezers to align the ends of the antenna coaxial cables over the connectors.

  6. Position the antenna coaxial cable cowling over the ends of the antenna coaxial cables (2).

  7. Use the blue torque driver and 3IP bit to reinstall three 3IP screws.

    • Two 3IP screws into the antenna coaxial cable connector cowling (923-13446) (2)

    • One 3IP screw into the antenna coaxial cable grounding clip (923-13449) (1)
