Beats Pill Battery
Before You Begin
Warning
Read Battery Safety and follow workspace and battery handling guidelines before you begin.
Tools
- Adjustable torque driver (10–34 Ncm) 
- Nylon probe (black stick) 
- Torx Plus 5IP 50 mm bit 
Caution
- Save undamaged screws for reassembly. 
- Both overtightened screws and loose screws can damage parts. 
Removal
- Place the device on a flat surface with the bottom cover facing up and the grille facing away from you.  
- Insert the flat end of the black stick at a 45-degree angle under the right side of the bottom cover. Then lift the bottom cover to break the adhesion.  
- Gently pull up on the bottom cover until it’s fully released from the housing.  
- Remove the bottom cover to access the battery cover. Save the bottom cover for reassembly.  
- Use the 10–34 Ncm adjustable torque driver and 5IP bit to remove the 12 5IP screws (923-10728) from the battery cover.  
- Remove the battery cover to access the battery. Save the battery cover for reassembly.  
- Grasp the plastic tab attached to the battery.  
- Pull the tab and battery as shown until the battery comes loose. Remove the battery from the device.  
- Ensure that the battery connectors on the battery and inside the device are undamaged and free from residue.  
Reassembly
- Align the connectors on the replacement battery with the connectors on the left side of the device.  
- Place the battery in the housing. Press the battery onto the connectors.  
- Tuck the plastic tab into the housing.  
- Position the battery cover over the battery. Ensure that the screw holes on the battery cover align with the housing screw holes.  
- Set the torque value on the 10–34 Ncm adjustable torque driver to 16 Ncm. 
- Use the adjustable torque driver and 5IP bit to reinstall the 12 5IP screws (923-10728) into the battery cover.  
- Remove the adhesive from the bottom cover starting on one side.  
- Use the flat end of the black stick to remove any adhesive residue.  
- Remove the clear bottom release liner from the replacement bottom cover adhesive. Then press the adhesive onto the underside of the bottom cover. 
- Remove the top release liner from the replacement bottom cover adhesive.  
- Align the bottom cover with the housing. Then press the bottom cover from left to right to adhere it to the housing.  
- Place the device on a flat surface with the bottom facing up. Press evenly across the bottom cover to adhere it to the housing.
