HDR White Level slider

A slider that lets you match the brightness levels of SDR elements (such as SDR media or titles, shapes, and other graphics created in Motion) to HDR elements in Motion projects. The HDR White Level slider is available when Color Processing is set to Automatic (in the Project Properties Inspector).

HDR White Level is set to 75% by default, which inverse tone maps the SDR white of project elements to 75% of the available HDR range in the project. The slider is measured as a percentage of HLG, from 50% to 100%. Peak SDR brightness is 50%, so setting the slider to 50% results in no change to the brightness of SDR elements.

If you’re creating a Final Cut effect, transition, title, or generator template, you can publish the HDR White Level slider with the template. This lets you to adjust the brightness of any SDR template elements (such as text, shapes, or replicators created in Motion) after they’re applied to the Final Cut Pro timeline (in an HDR project).
