Modify a course outline in iTunes U for web
You can use the outline format controls to quickly add topics, move topics, change the appearance of text, or remove topics from an outline.
Note: Enter your topics in plain text format. iTunes U does not support additional formatting (for example, bold, italics, and so on) in the Info | Outline pane.
Add topics to an outline
In iTunes U
for web, click Info > Outline for the course outline where you want to add topics.Click an existing topic in the outline, then press Return.
Be sure the cursor is at the end of the topic text. Otherwise, iTunes U breaks the current topic into two topics.
Enter your new topic text.
You can press Tab (or use the format controls) to indent the topic. You can only add posts to top-level topics in your outline. Therefore, you cannot indent a topic that already has one or more associated posts.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 for every new topic you want to add to your outline, then click Save Outline.
Move topics in an outline
In iTunes U
for web, click Info > Outline for the course outline where you want to move topics.Hover the pointer over the topic you want to move.
Drag
up or down in the outline, then click Save Outline.An insertion bar appears to indicate where you can drop the selection. If the topic you move contains subtopics, iTunes U includes all of the subtopics in the move.
When you move topics up or down in the course outline, iTunes U retains the topic hierarchy and reorders the topics within the same outline level.
Note: If you move a topic with one or more posts associated with the topic, iTunes U also moves the associated posts in the Posts panes.
Format text in an outline
In iTunes U
for web, click Info > Outline for the course outline where you want to format text.Click on an outline topic, use the format controls to change text appearance, then click Save Outline.
To change text appearance:
Choose an outline hierarchy style from the menu.
Click to decrease or increase the outline topic indent.
Delete topics in an outline
In iTunes U
for web, click Info > Outline for the course outline where you want to delete topics.Hover the pointer over the topic you want to delete.
Click
in the outline.If the topic contains subtopics, iTunes U includes the subtopics in the selection.
Click
in the outline, then click Save Outline.iTunes U deletes the selected topic, and any included subtopics. To delete an individual topic, click the topic text you want to delete, then click
.
Note: You cannot delete a topic with one or more posts associated with the topic. To delete the topic, either assign the post to a different topic or delete the post.
