Turn on Live Captions in FaceTime on Mac
While you’re on a video call, you can turn on Live Captions to have conversations transcribed on the screen. All audio is processed on your Mac.
Note: Live Captions is only available on Mac computers with Apple silicon, and is not available in all languages, countries, or regions. The accuracy of Live Captions may vary and should not be relied upon in high-risk or emergency situations. Live Captions uses additional power.
During a FaceTime video call, click
.
If you don’t see
, move the pointer over the FaceTime window.
Click Live Captions.
If Apple Intelligence* is turned on, you can also use Live Translation to see the other participant’s words translated into your language. See Translate messages, calls, and conversations.
