Report an incident in Maps on your iPhone

With iOS 14.5 and later, you can report incidents — like accidents, hazards, speed checks, or roadwork — in the Maps app on your iPhone.

How to report an incident

  • Use Siri. Say something like "Hey Siri, report an accident" or "Hey Siri, there's something in the road."

  • If you're connected to CarPlay, you can tap the Report icon on the CarPlay display.

While you're using turn-by-turn directions

  1. Tap the Report an Incident button at the side of the map. If you use iOS 18 or earlier, tap the gray arrow at the bottom of the screen then tap Report an Incident.

  2. Tap the type of incident you want to report: Crash, Speed Check, Traffic, Roadwork, Hazard, or Road Closure.

You can report an incident as you use turn-by-turn directions in Maps on your iPhone.

The incident reports that you see might vary based on your location. For example, in China mainland, you'll see an option to report Roadwork instead of report a Speed Check.

Maps availability and features vary by country and region. Learn which Maps features are supported in your country or region.

From the main Maps screen

  1. Tap your image next to the search field, then tap Reports.

  2. Tap Report a New Issue at the bottom of the screen, then select the type of report.

When you start to report an incident in Maps on iOS, you can choose from options such as a missing place or issues with a place or street.
  3. Add the information for the issue, then tap Send in the upper-right corner.

Under Incidents Reported, you can only see the type and number of incidents previously reported.
