Use an external graphics processor with your Mac
You can use an external graphics processor (eGPU) with certain Intel-based MacBook Pro and iMac computers that have newer Thunderbolt ports and macOS 10.13.4 or later.
Connect an eGPU to your Mac
Connect the eGPU’s cable to a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) or Thunderbolt / USB 4 port
on your Mac.
Disconnect an eGPU from your Mac
On your Mac, click the eGPU icon
in the menu bar, then disconnect the eGPU’s cable from your Mac.
