Locate a log file using Console on Mac
You can use Console to find out where a log file is located on your computer.
In the Console app
on your Mac, if the log list isn’t visible, click the Sidebar button 
.Double-click the file you want to locate.
A Finder window appears with the log file selected. If you don’t have read permissions for the folder containing the log file, you may be restricted from viewing the log file directly in the Finder.
