The Apple News app on iPhone has tabs at the bottom of the screen that help you navigate throughout the app. The Apple News app on iPad and Mac has a sidebar on the left. To browse the categories:
On your iPhone, select the tabs at the bottom of the screen to switch between different types of content.
On your iPad or Mac, use the sidebar on the left to switch between different types of content. If you don't see the sidebar, select the.
Today includes a feed of top stories curated by Apple News editors, and stories from the channels and topics that you follow, like sports and local news. Your feed also shows stories suggested by Siri and trending topics that are popular with other readers. As you read, Apple News learns your interests, then suggests stories that you might like.
You can read some news stories for free in the Today feed. But to access premium content, you need a subscription to Apple News+.
Subscribe to Apple News+ for access to hundreds of magazines, newspapers, other digital publications, and puzzles.
View schedules, scores, stat leaders, and more. Follow your favorite teams to see personalized content like news and highlights.
You can listen to select news briefings for free, or subscribe to Apple News+ to listen to audio stories on your iPhone and with CarPlay. If you have Apple News+, with iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS Sonoma, you can listen to select audio stories in the Podcasts app on your iPad and Mac, in addition to iPhone and CarPlay.
Audio stories are available only in the United States.
On your iPhone, the Following tab shows all of the topics and channels that you follow and suggestions from Siri based on what you read. Here, you can also find your reading history, access your previously saved stories, see all of your Favorites, and play puzzles.
On your iPad or Mac, all of these options appear in the sidebar.
Puzzles are available with an Apple News+ subscription.
Search for channels, topics, and stories
To search for a specific channel, topic, or story:
On your iPhone, select the Following tab. Then use the search field at the top of the screen.
On your iPad or Mac, select the search field at the top of the sidebar. If you don't see the sidebar, select the Sidebar button.
Share stories and puzzles with others
On your iPhone or iPad, open a story or puzzle and select the. Then select the to send it.
On your Mac, open a story or puzzle, then select theat the top of the screen.
Save stories for later
To save stories on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, select theat the top of the screen to save the story for later. You can find your saved stories in the Following tab on your iPhone or in the sidebar on your iPad or Mac. If you don't see the sidebar, select the .
