Apple Limited Warranty coverage
Our Limited Warranty covers your iPod and Apple-branded accessories against defects for one year from the date you bought them. The Apple Limited Warranty is in addition to rights provided by consumer law.
Our warranty doesn't cover damage caused by accidents or unauthorized modifications. See the warranty for complete details. You can check your warranty status online and update your proof-of-purchase information if there's an error in our records.
Repairs are considered out of warranty when:
- Your iPod is over one year old
- Your iPod has an issue that’s not covered under warranty or consumer law, like accidental damage or damage caused by unauthorized modifications
We might be able to fix your iPod for an out-of-warranty fee. If we can’t fix it, you might have to replace it. Your replacement iPod will be new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability. Contact your service representative for details. The Apple Limited Warranty is in addition to rights provided by consumer law.
The Apple Limited Warranty covers a defective battery. We might need to test your iPod to find the cause of your battery issue. If your battery has a defect and it's covered by our warranty or consumer law, we'll replace your iPod at no additional cost.
The warranty doesn’t cover batteries that wear down from normal use. If your iPod isn't covered, we can repair or replace your iPod for a fee.
If your iPod screen is broken, we might be able to service it for an out-of-warranty fee. Accidental damage isn't covered by Apple Warranty. The cost to service it depends on your iPod model. If your screen cracks due to a defect, it’s covered by Apple warranty and consumer law.
We'll run a diagnostic test to see if your iPod needs any other repairs. If it does, we'll let you know.
The Apple-branded accessories that come in the box with your iPod, including the power adapter, are covered by our warranty and consumer law. For service details, contact Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
Get ready for iPod service
- Back up your iPod touch with your computer or use iCloud. You’ll need the backup to restore your content if we have to reset or replace your iPod touch.
- Make sure you know your Apple ID and password.
- Keep your cables and other accessories when you get service.
When you get your iPod back from service, restore your data from your backup.
We guarantee our service, including replacement parts, for 90 days, or the remaining term of your Apple warranty, whichever is longer. We offer this whenever you get service from us or from an Apple Authorized Service Provider. This does not affect your consumer law rights.
