Use encrypted backups in Apple Configurator 2 on Mac
Backups are normally not encrypted. However, you may want to use encrypted backups to save users’ passwords. In this way, you make sure that no one without a password can view the backups, even if they have access to the Mac with Apple Configurator 2 installed.
Enable encrypted backups
In Apple Configurator 2
on your Mac, select a device or Blueprint, then choose Actions > Advanced > Enable Encrypted Backups.
Enter a password and verify it, then click Set Password.
Disable encrypted backups
In Apple Configurator 2
on your Mac, select a device or Blueprint, then choose Actions > Advanced > Disable Encrypted Backups.
Enter the password, then click Clear Password.
