MacBook Pro (14-inch and 16-inch, Nov 2023) Audio Board
Before You Begin
Warning
- Read Battery Safety and follow workspace and battery handling guidelines before you begin. 
Remove the following parts before you begin:
- 14-inch model with one fan 
- 14-inch model with two fans 
- 16-inch model 
 
                                    
                                
                                    
                                        Tools
- Adjustable torque driver (10-34 Ncm) (923-02995) 
- EarPods with 3.5 mm headphone plug 
- Torx Plus 5IP 50 mm bit (923-08673) 
Refer to a full list of tools required for all repairs.
Removal
Note: If you’ve already completed the removal steps, skip to reassembly.
- Use the 10-34 Ncm adjustable torque driver and 5IP bit to remove the short top 5IP screw (923-06936) (1) and the long bottom 5IP screw (923-06937) (2) from the audio board.  
- Lift the audio board out of the top case.  
Reassembly
- Position the audio board in the top case.  
- Use the 10–34 Ncm adjustable torque driver and 5IP bit to partially reinstall the two 5IP screws into the audio board. - Short top 5IP screw (923-06936) (1)  
- Long bottom 5IP screw (923-06937) (2)  
  
- Plug the EarPods into the 3.5 mm headphone jack to ensure audio board alignment. Adjust the alignment of the audio board until the plug is easy to insert and remove. 
- Keep the 5IP bit in the 10–34 Ncm adjustable torque driver. Set the torque value to 11.5 Ncm. 
- Use the adjustable torque driver and 5IP bit to fully reinstall the two 5IP screws. Then unplug the EarPods.  
Reinstall the following parts to complete reassembly:
- 14-inch model with one fan 
- 14-inch model with two fans 
- 16-inch model
