About WPT-compliant Apple Watch charging in China and Indonesia
Learn about WPT-compliant Apple Watch models and chargers sold by Apple in China and Indonesia.
WPT compliance
Wireless power transfer (WPT) regulations limit the frequencies that devices, including Apple Watch, can use to charge their batteries. In countries with WPT regulation, Apple Watch is sold with a WPT-compliant charging cable when required. WPT-compliant chargers do not support fast charging.
Supported Apple Watch models
The following models of Apple Watch sold in China are WPT-compliant:
Apple Watch Series 10
Apple Watch Ultra 2, Model 型号 MXXXX/CH/B
Apple Watch SE (2nd generation), Model 型号 MXXXX/CH/B
Apple Watch Series 10 sold in Indonesia is also WPT-compliant.
Included in the box is a WPT-compliant Apple Watch Magnetic Charger to USB-C Cable (1 m). This charger does not support other models of Apple Watch and will not charge them, including Apple Watch Series 10, Apple Watch Ultra 2, and Apple Watch SE (2nd generation) purchased in countries other than China and Indonesia.
If your Apple Watch is incompatible with your charger, you receive a message: "Unable to charge. This is a country-specific charger. It is incompatible with this Apple Watch."
