Subscribe to shows or channels in Podcasts on Mac
A channel is a collection of shows offered by a podcasts creator.
You can listen to free shows and channels and purchase a subscription to others for access to exclusive content, new releases, ad-free episodes and more.
Note: Subscriptions aren’t available in every country or region. See the Apple Support article Availability of Apple Media Services.
Subscribe to a show or channel
In the Podcasts app on your Mac, select the show or channel that you want to subscribe to.
When you subscribe to a show, you automatically follow it. See Follow or unfollow shows.
Click the subscription button.
If you’re using Family Sharing and someone in your family group subscribes to a show or channel, you see a message that you already have access.
You may be asked to enter your Apple ID and password. Make sure you sign in with the same Apple ID you use for App Store and iTunes Store purchases.
To confirm the subscription, click OK.
Cancel or change your subscription
You can view or change subscriptions you purchased in the Podcasts app, the App Store, the Apple TV app, the iTunes Store or Apple News.
In the Podcasts app on your Mac, choose Account > View Apple ID.
Click Media & Purchases in the sidebar, then click the Manage button next to Subscriptions.
Click Edit, then do any of the following:
Change subscription options: In the Options list, select a setting, then click Done.
Cancel your subscription: Click Cancel Subscription, confirm the cancellation, then click Done.
Share Apple Podcasts subscriptions
When you subscribe to shows or channels, you can use Family Sharing to share your subscriptions with up to five other family members. Your family group members will automatically have access to the shows and channels you subscribe to.
If you join a family group and a family group member subscribes to a show or channel you already subscribe to, your subscription isn’t renewed on your next billing date; instead, you use the group’s subscription. If you join a family group that doesn’t subscribe, the group uses your subscription.
Note: To stop sharing an Apple Podcasts subscription with a family group, you can cancel the subscription, leave the family group, or, if you’re the family group organiser, stop using Family Sharing.
