You can connect your Mac to:
Mac computers that have file sharing turned on
Windows computers with shared folders
AirPort disks and Time Capsules
Servers on your network that use Apple Filing Protocol (AFP) over TCP/IP, including servers with Server installed
SMB/CIFS, NFS, FTP, and WebDAV services running on macOS Server, UNIX, Linux, and Windows servers
FTP servers
With read-only access, you can copy files from the server, but to copy files to the server, you may need another FTP app. Choose Apple menu > App Store to find FTP apps available for macOS.
