Change General preferences in iTunes on PC
In the iTunes app on your PC, use the General pane of iTunes preferences to specify a library name, choose how to show lists, specify import settings and more.
To change these preferences, choose Edit > Preferences, then click General.

Library Name | The name of your iTunes library (you can change the name). This is useful if you use more than one library. If you turn on iTunes library sharing, others see this name. | ||||||||||
Show Apple Music Features | Display the Apple Music buttons (For You and Browse) on this computer. Note: This option appears if you are not a subscriber to Apple Music. | ||||||||||
iCloud Music Library | Select to access your iCloud Music Library on this computer. Note: This option appears if you are signed in as a subscriber to Apple Music or iTunes Match. | ||||||||||

Add songs to Library when adding to playlists | When this tick box is selected, songs from Apple Music that you add to a playlist are also added to your iCloud Music Library. Unselect to add Apple Music songs to playlists without adding them to your library. Note: This option appears if you are signed in as a subscriber to Apple Music or iTunes Match. | ||||||||||
List view tick boxes | Display or hide tick boxes when viewing items in your library in a list. | ||||||||||
Grid view download badges | Display or hide download buttons when viewing items in your library in a grid. | ||||||||||
Star ratings | Display or hide star ratings for songs. | ||||||||||
List Size | Change the text size when viewing items in your library in a list. | ||||||||||
Playlist Icon Size | Change the size of the playlist icons that appear in the sidebar. See Intro to playlists. | ||||||||||
When you insert a CD | If your computer has a CD or DVD drive, or if you have an external drive connected to your computer, choose what happens when you insert a CD. See Import songs from CDs. | ||||||||||
Import Settings | Choose the file format and other settings for songs you import from CDs. See Choose import settings. | ||||||||||
Automatically retrieve CD track names from Internet | If your computer has a CD or DVD drive, or if you have an external drive connected to your computer, choose to automatically display the song and artist’s names when you insert an audio CD. (To retrieve track names, you must be connected to the internet.) | ||||||||||
