How do I get service for my Apple TV?
Apple offers many ways to get support and service for your Apple TV. Choose the one that’s best for you. If you’re having issues with setup, AirPlay or the App Store, you can start by reading our support articles.
Contact us to get advice from an Apple Support expert. We’ll help you fix your issue or set up a repair. Before you contact us, be ready with your product’s serial number, your Apple ID and your password.
Send it in
Contact us and we’ll send you a shipping label. Print the label and take it with your Apple TV to Australia Post. They have packaging for you to send your Apple TV to us. We’ll return it to you as soon as possible.
Bring it in
To get help in person, contact an Apple Authorised Service Provider or make an Apple Store appointment online. Make sure you know your Apple ID and password before your appointment.
How much will it cost to repair or replace my Apple TV?
There's no charge if the issue is covered under warranty, an AppleCare plan or consumer law. If your issue isn't covered, you'll pay an out-of-warranty service fee.

The prices shown here are for repairs made by Apple. Pricing and terms might vary at other service providers. All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. If shipping is required, we’ll add an additional A$ 19.95 shipping fee.

Is your Apple TV covered by AppleCare+?
AppleCare+ gives you expert technical support and hardware coverage from Apple, including accidental damage protection. Each incident of accidental damage is subject to a service fee.
If you don't have AppleCare+, you'll pay the out-of-warranty fee for that type of repair.

Express Replacement Service
If you need to replace your Apple TV immediately, Express Replacement Service offers speedy delivery. We can send you a replacement Apple TV right away with shipping materials and instructions. Return your original Apple TV to us within 10 business days of your request to avoid paying the full replacement value for Apple TV.
Express Replacement Service is benefit of your AppleCare plan. The service delivers your replacement Apple TV faster, but it doesn't cover any costs for your product, such as service fees or the replacement value. When we get your original device, we'll determine those costs. Meanwhile, you can start using your replacement Apple TV.
When you request Express Replacement Service, we put a temporary authorisation on your credit card to cover the full replacement value of your product. This authorisation will expire if:
- Your repair is covered under warranty, an AppleCare plan or consumer law
- We receive your original product within 10 business days
If we receive your Apple TV and find that it was severely damaged in an accident, or it's inoperable after unauthorised modifications, you'll pay the full replacement value.

All prices apply in Australia. These fees are in Australian dollars and include GST. Your replacement Apple TV will be new or equivalent to new. Apple reserves the right to change the replacement value on this web page from time to time.
Repairs are considered out of warranty when:
- Your Apple TV is over one year old
- Your Apple TV has an issue that’s not covered under warranty or consumer law, like accidental damage or unauthorised modifications
We charge for out-of-warranty service. If we find an issue with your Apple TV, we might be able to fix it or replace it with an Apple TV that’s new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability. Contact your service representative for details.
Battery service for your remote
Apple TV 4K and Apple TV (4th generation) include a remote with a rechargeable battery. If your battery has a manufacturing defect and it's covered by the Apple Limited Warranty, an AppleCare plan or consumer law, we'll service it at no additional cost. Our warranty doesn’t cover batteries that wear down from normal use.
We might need to test your accessory to find the cause of your battery issue. If your Siri Remote isn't covered, we can service or replace it for a fee.
You get an additional benefit if you have an AppleCare plan. If your battery can hold less than 80 percent of its original capacity and it's covered by your AppleCare plan, we'll service your accessory at no charge.
The Apple-branded accessories that come in the box with your Apple TV are covered by our warranty and consumer law. They’re also covered by your AppleCare plan. For service details, contact Apple or an Apple Authorised Service Provider.
Get ready for Apple TV service
- Make sure you know your Apple ID and password, and your Apple TV serial number.
- Keep your cables and other accessories when you get service for your Apple TV.
Apple Limited Warranty and proof of purchase
The Apple Limited Warranty covers your Apple TV and its accessories against manufacturing defects for one year from the date you bought your product. The Apple Limited Warranty is in addition to rights provided by consumer law.
Our warranty doesn't cover damage caused by accidents or unauthorised modifications. See the warranty for complete details. You can check your coverage status online and update your proof-of-purchase information if there's an error in our records. If our warranty, your AppleCare plan, or consumer law don't cover your repair, you'll pay out-of-warranty fees.
Your country or region may have consumer-protection laws for some repair issues.
Our guarantee after service
We guarantee our service, including replacement parts, for 90 days or the remaining term of your Apple warranty or AppleCare coverage, whichever is longer. We offer this whenever you get service from us or from an Apple Authorised Service Provider. This is in addition to rights provided by consumer law.
When you get your Apple TV back from service, sign in to the App Store with your Apple ID. If we reset or replaced your Apple TV during service, you’ll need to download your apps again.
