Pay TV Provider & Privacy

Pay TV Provider is designed to protect your information and enable you to choose what you share.

The pay TV Provider feature allows your pay TV Provider and third-party apps to access and exchange information about your pay TV subscription account so you can sign into your pay TV Provider account once and then automatically get access to shows, movies and other content that is part of your pay TV Provider subscription, from within third-party apps, without having to sign in each time.

When you sign into your pay TV Provider account, apps supporting your pay TV Provider account are enabled to use your account. After you sign into your pay TV Provider account, other apps may ask you for access to your pay TV Provider account.

When you sign into your pay TV Provider account, your device will store certain information about your pay TV subscription account on the device, such as the pay TV Provider name and your user display name. This information is used to enable the feature and to exchange subscription information between your pay TV Provider and third-party apps. Your pay TV Provider can share your subscription account information with any app you have enabled, to verify your access to some of their subscription or content offerings. This information may include your subscription user ID, household ID and account postcode, along with subscription package details.

After you sign into your TV Provider account, we will use your subscription information to find third-party apps with content available through your subscription that are eligible to connect to the Apple TV app.

You may choose to disable the pay TV Provider feature at any time. To do so on iOS, go to Settings > TV Provider > Remove TV Provider. To do so on tvOS, go to Settings > Users and Accounts > TV Provider > Remove TV Provider. This will sign you out of your pay TV Provider account. You may also choose to disable apps on an individual basis.

By enabling the pay TV Provider feature, you are allowing your pay TV Provider and any third-party apps enabled by you, to exchange and use your pay TV subscription account information. Their sharing and use of that information is subject to their terms, privacy policies and practices. You should review the terms, privacy policies and practices of your pay TV Provider and any such third-party apps to understand how they use and share your pay TV subscription account information and related information, before sharing with them.

At all times, information collected by Apple will be treated in accordance with Apple’s Privacy Policy, which can be found at www.apple.com/au/privacy
