Delete music on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Android device
- Open the Apple Music app.
- Go to Library and tap Downloaded to see your downloads. On your iPad, tap Downloaded in the sidebar.
- Find the song, album or music video that you want to remove.
- Touch and hold the item, then tap Remove.
- Tap Remove Download to remove the item from only this device. Or tap Delete from Library to delete the item across all of your devices.
If you use Family Sharing and don't want other family members to see your purchases, you can hide them. Find out how to hide an item.
You can also delete music in the Settings app. Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage or iPad Storage. Scroll to Music and tap it. Swipe left on All Songs or on the item that you want to delete, then tap Delete.
Delete music on your Mac
- Open the Apple Music app.
- In the sidebar, click Songs or Albums.
- From the menu bar, choose View > Only Downloaded Music.
- If you want to delete a song, click the More button
next to the song. If you want to delete an album, move the pointer over the album and click the More button
.
- Click Remove Download to remove the item from only this device.
To delete the item across all of your devices, click Delete from Library and confirm when prompted.

If you can't delete your music
- Turn off computer syncing: If you used a USB cable to manually sync music from your Mac or PC to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, you can turn off syncing to remove content.
- Check if the item is downloaded: If you see
next to a song, it's downloaded on your device. If you don't see
, the song isn't downloaded.
