Update your service provider settings manually on your iPhone or iPad

Service provider settings updates let your service provider update the network and related settings to improve mobile network connectivity and performance. Service provider settings updates can also add support for new features, such as 5G or Wi-Fi Calling.

When a service provider settings update is available, you'll be prompted to install it. Installation will takes less than 1 minute, and you can keep using your device normally. If your service provider releases a mandatory update, you'll see an OK button instead of an Update button to let you know that the update has been downloaded and installed.

If you dismiss the installation notification, you can update service provider settings manually by following these steps:

  1. Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi or a mobile network.

  2. Tap Settings > General > About.

  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to install your service provider update.

If you set up a new eSIM or insert a new SIM card into your iPhone or iPad, you may need to download the service provider settings for your new service provider.

To see the version of service provider settings installed on your device, tap Settings > General > About and look next to Service Provider. To see additional service provider information, tap the version number. To verify that you have the latest service provider settings installed, contact your service provider.
