When you purchase a Pro App from the Mac App Store, make sure that you're signed in to the Apple Account that you want associated with the app. That way, you get all the benefits that come with your purchase, including updates, the ability to install the app on other personal devices and the ability to share the app with family members.

To update a Pro App, sign into the Mac App Store with the Apple Account you used when you originally purchased the app.

Install a previously purchased Pro App

If you bought a new Mac, had to erase your existing Mac or had to remove a Pro App for troubleshooting purposes, you can download and install your previously purchased Pro App from the Mac App Store. Make sure you're signed in to your Mac with the Apple Account that you used you purchased the app.

Adopt your preinstalled Pro Apps

When you purchase Logic Pro, Final Cut Pro or the Pro Apps Bundle for Education pre-installed on your new Mac, your Mac arrives with the apps installed and ready to use. You can find the apps in the Applications folder.

To make sure you get all the features included with Pro Apps — including updates, the ability to install the app on your other personal devices and more — make sure you adopt the apps in the App Store as soon as you get your new Mac.
