Redownload music from the iTunes Store on your Mac
Find out how to redownload music you’ve purchased from the iTunes Store on your Mac.
Authorise your Mac to play purchases
Before you can redownload music you’ve purchased from the iTunes Store, you’ll need to authorise your Mac using your Apple Account.
How to redownload music on your Mac
Open the Apple Music app.
In the menu bar, choose Account > Purchased. If you use Family Sharing, you’ll see Family Purchases.
Find the music that you want to redownload. If you use Family Sharing, choose a family member to see their purchased music. From here, you can:
Download an album: Click Albums, then click
.Download a song: Click Songs, then click
next to a song.Download all songs and albums: At the bottom of the screen, click Download All.
If you can’t see or download music you’ve purchased
Check the following things.
Check if you’re signed in with the Apple Account that you used to purchase the music
If you sign in with a different Apple Account to the one that’s currently signed in, any purchases associated with the Apple Account you sign out of will be removed from your Mac.
To check the Apple Account that’s signed in, open the Apple Music app. In the menu bar, choose Account.
Make sure your Mac is authorised to redownload purchases
Before you can redownload music you’ve purchased from the iTunes Store, you’ll need to authorise your computer using your Apple Account.
See if the purchased music is hidden or deleted
Open the Apple Music app.
In the menu bar, choose Account > Account Settings. If prompted, sign in with your Apple Account and password.
Scroll to Hidden Items and click Manage.
If you find the music, click Unhide, then redownload the music.
What to do if the download button missing or greyed out
Check if the song or album is already in the Apple Music app.
