If you're missing files in iCloud Drive
If you notice files missing from iCloud Drive, you can recover files if they were recently deleted or check for the missing files on all of your devices.
Recover recently deleted files
You can find recently deleted files in the Recently Deleted folder on your iPhone, iPad or Apple Vision Pro, or in the Trash or Recycle Bin on your Mac or PC. Your files are removed from Recently Deleted after 30 days.
On your iPhone, iPad or Apple Vision Pro
Open the Files app and tap the Browse tab.
Under Locations, tap Recently Deleted.
Tap the
, then tap Select.Select the files that you want to keep, then tap Recover. To recover a single file, you can also touch and hold the file, then tap Recover.
On your Mac
Look for the missing items in Trash:
If you find a file, drag it from the Trash to the desktop or another location.
To return a deleted file to its original location, control-click the file then select Put Back.
On your PC
Go to the Recycle Bin.
Drag the file or folder to your desktop or another location. To move the file back to iCloud Drive, drag the file into iCloud Drive in the Navigation pane.
On iCloud.com
Check for your files in Recently Deleted. If you don't find your files in Recently Deleted in iCloud Drive, check for the files in Data Recovery.
Recover files from Recently Deleted
Go to icloud.com/iclouddrive.
Select Recently Deleted from the sidebar.
Select the files that you want to recover, then select Recover. Or select Recover All.
Restore files from Data Recovery
Go to icloud.com/recovery.
Click Restore Files.
Click Select All, or select the files that you want to restore.
Click Restore.
If you make changes to iCloud Drive during data recovery, it can interrupt the recovery process. This includes browsing iCloud Drive in another browser window and editing or deleting iCloud Drive files.
Search other places
Check third-party cloud services and other storage locations on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or PC.
In third-party apps and services
If you use a third-party cloud service, check that app or service for the missing files. If you use a third-party cloud service in the Finder or Files app, under Locations, check the folder for that third-party app.
On your iPhone or iPad
Open the Files app.
In the search box, enter the name of the file or keywords.
On your Mac
Use Spotlight to search for missing files by name or keywords.
If you have a Time Machine backup, check the backup for the missing files.
Check the iCloud Drive (Archive) folder: Open Finder, select Macintosh HD, click Users, then select [User name]. If the archive folder exists, you see "iCloud Drive (Archive)". If you don't see Macintosh HD in Finder, go to Finder, select Settings (Preferences) and click Sidebar. Under Locations, check Hard disks.
On your PC
Click the Start button.
Type the file name or keywords related to the file and press Enter.
