Find the software version on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

Use your device or a computer to find the version of iOS on your iPhone or iPod touch or iPadOS on your iPad.

Find software version on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Tap General.

  3. Tap About.

    iOS Version listed on the About page in Settings.

Find software version using a computer

  1. On a Mac with macOS Catalina or later, open the Finder. On a Mac with macOS Mojave or earlier, open iTunes. On a Windows PC, open iTunes or the Apple Devices app.

  2. Connect your device to the computer.

  3. Locate your device on the computer. If the computer doesn't recognise your device, find out what to do.

  4. Look under the General tab or the Summary tab to see the software version.

    On a PC with the Apple Devices app, you can manually check for iOS updates when you connect your iPhone.
