Delete apps on your iPhone or iPad
Find out how to delete apps on your iPhone or iPad.
Before you get started
Cancel any in-app subscriptions you don’t need. If you delete an app, it won’t automatically cancel in-app subscriptions.
Find the app you want to delete. If you can’t find the app, use Spotlight to search for it. You can delete apps from Spotlight.
How to delete an app
Touch and hold the app.
Tap Remove App
.
Tap Delete App, then tap Delete to confirm.
If you touch and hold an app from the Home Screen and the apps start to jiggle:
Tap the Remove icon
in the top left-hand corner of the app.
Tap Delete App, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap Done.

If you can’t see the option to delete an app
Some built-in Apple apps can’t be deleted from your iPhone or iPad. Here’s a list of built-in Apple apps you can delete from your device. If you can’t delete an app that’s not made by Apple, check your parental control settings. Make sure Deleting Apps is set to Allow, then try deleting the app again.
