About progress in Schoolwork
As a student, to get the most out of Schoolwork and view your progress, make sure your school enables the Student Progress feature and you’re using your school account when working on activities assigned by your teachers. You’ll be able to check how you’re progressing on individual activities, and also how you’re progressing on all activities in an assignment or class.
If your school enabled the Student Progress feature and you work on an activity your teacher sent in an assignment, all available progress data is shared with you and the teachers in your class. The progress-reporting app automatically sends information as you work on the activity in the app (for example, time spent on the activity, the percentage completed, quiz scores, hints used, or points earned). The data available depends on the type of activity, and is defined by the app developer. At a minimum, every activity that supports progress reporting sends time spent data.
When viewing your progress, you can see:
Class progress: The class view displays how you’re doing across all active, submitted, and completed assignments in the selected class.
Assignment progress: The assignment details view displays how you’re doing across all activities in the selected assignment.
Activity progress: The student pop-up pane displays detailed information about how you’re doing on a selected activity.
Progress data doesn’t appear right away. Schoolwork takes time to process data before displaying it. In addition, Schoolwork doesn’t report progress when you use an account other than your school account or when you do work not assigned in Schoolwork.
Note:
If necessary, your school can disable reporting of student progress. To disable reporting, contact your teacher.
In addition to the Student Progress feature, your school can enable a feature to improve Schoolwork. If enabled, Apple can process non-personally identifying Schoolwork data using techniques such as machine learning to improve the app. For example, Apple may process Schoolwork data to understand trends in usage, customize user experience, and develop new education features for the app. To ensure transparency, you will see a notification the first time you open Schoolwork using your Managed Apple ID after the Improving Schoolwork feature is enabled. For more information, contact your teacher. See About privacy and security for Apple products in education.
