Use full color.
Use a transparent background (no fill)—a mask is applied in some views.

Examples of implementing the logo specifications
Scale your logo to fit the required height, if necessary.
![Two images showing a logo scaled to the correct height. On the left is a logo called Lorem Ipsum displayed at a correct height at the top of an iPhone screen. On the right, the same logo appears at the bottom of a channel image displayed in the News app.](https://help.apple.com/assets/55DCB4D2680CE2712805104D/5CF6C4FB094622F95B64260A/en_US/c482476032e5135454692718d968838a.png)
Scale your logo to fit the recommended width, if necessary.

On the right, the same logo appears at the bottom of a channel image displayed in the News app.](https://help.apple.com/assets/55DCB4D2680CE2712805104D/5CF6C4FB094622F95B64260A/en_US/84ef51a129d84a387c2df41ffe5c0371.png)
Place a logo mark next to the text, not above or below it.
![Two images showing a logo correctly displayed next to the text. On the left is a logo called Lorem Ipsum that has a black circle to the left of the logo. This appears at the top of an iPhone screen. On the right are the same logo and circle, appearing at the bottom of a channel image displayed in the News app.](https://help.apple.com/assets/55DCB4D2680CE2712805104D/5CF6C4FB094622F95B64260A/en_US/c0f7ce234a47b2845ec274fe2bbb2e90.png)
Characters in a logo mark should be transparent.

On the left is a logo called Lorem Ipsum that has a black-filled circle to the left with the transparent letters A, B, and C appearing within it. This logo appears at the top of an iPhone screen. On the right are the same logo, circle, and transparent letters. They appear at the bottom of a channel image displayed in the News app.](https://help.apple.com/assets/55DCB4D2680CE2712805104D/5CF6C4FB094622F95B64260A/en_US/a60fb63da3049a2999330d58f79db580.png)
What to avoid
Avoid using a solid background color. In some views, a mask is applied to your logo, and a solid background doesn’t produce good results.
![Two images showing when a solid background produces bad results. The left image displays the word Lorem in white letters on a blue background. The example to the right shows just a black rectangle below the channel image that would display in the News app, indicating that solid background colors don’t show embedded white text. The image of a news feed appears to the right. Similarly, the logo with the solid background color appears as a gray block with no interior text.](https://help.apple.com/assets/55DCB4D2680CE2712805104D/5CF6C4FB094622F95B64260A/en_US/63390a4b3d5d0ac8dd62ba0e575f80ca.png)
Avoid wide logos, which can be difficult to read when scaled down.
![Two images showing that wide logo text becomes hard to read when scaled down. The left image displays the words Lorem Ipsum Dolor Sit Amet. The example to the right shows the same words in small text below the channel image that would display in the News app. The image of a news feed appears to the right. The logo text is too small to read.](https://help.apple.com/assets/55DCB4D2680CE2712805104D/5CF6C4FB094622F95B64260A/en_US/6b1bd1553946f79687b27ce5ad835852.png)
Avoid stacked logos, which can be difficult to read when scaled down.
![Two images showing that stacked logos are difficult to read when scaled down. The left image displays the words The Lorem Ipsum, with the word “The” appearing above Lorem Ipsum. In an example to its right, it shows the same stacked words in the channel image that would display in the News app, indicating that stacked text produces small words that are difficult to read. The image of a news feed appears to the right. Similarly, the stacked text is quite small and difficult to read.](https://help.apple.com/assets/55DCB4D2680CE2712805104D/5CF6C4FB094622F95B64260A/en_US/eeef831ec79ac213d8aeb27b14ba6a74.png)
Avoid using a color fill in characters or shapes within logo marks. Text and shapes positioned against other elements or colors should be transparent.
![Two images showing that color-filled characters don’t render properly. The left image displays the words Lorem Ipsum, next to a black circle with the letters A, B, and C inside the circle in blue. In an example to its right, you see just a gray circle next to Lorem Ipsum below the channel image that would display in the News app, indicating that color fill characters don’t render properly. The image of a news feed appears to the right. Similarly, the circle to the left of Lorem Ipsum shows no internal text](https://help.apple.com/assets/55DCB4D2680CE2712805104D/5CF6C4FB094622F95B64260A/en_US/5e642f99e353fe72017e6af66a54e105.png)
Avoid color fills in outlined text. A filled outline won’t produce good results when a mask is applied. Outlined text should be transparent.
![Two images showing that outline text that’s filled makes that text hard to read. The left image displays the words Lorem in blue, surrounded by a dark outline. In the example to the right, the word Lorem appears as an unattractive blob below the channel image that would display in the News app, indicating that colored fills in outlined text leads to poor results. The image of a news feed appears to the right. Similarly, the word Lorem is almost impossible to read.](https://help.apple.com/assets/55DCB4D2680CE2712805104D/5CF6C4FB094622F95B64260A/en_US/5035bbfafbe90eae63407fe8c5ac41e4.png)
