Account Information preferences for Jabber
Use the Account Information pane of Accounts preferences to set options for your Jabber account.
To open this pane in Messages, choose Messages > Preferences, click Accounts, select the Jabber account, then click Account Information.
You can’t change account settings while you’re logged in. First, set your status to Offline.
Enable this account | Select to make an account active; deselect to make it inactive. When you make an account inactive, your status is displayed as Offline. For more details, see Set up to send text messages with Jabber. | ||||||||||
Password | Enter your password on the messages server. | ||||||||||
Description | Enter a name for the account—for example, “Work Messages.” Only you can see this name. | ||||||||||
