operators
Operators are symbols that initiate arithmetic, comparison, or concatenation operations. You use the symbols in formulas to indicate the operation you want to use. For example, the arithmetic operator “+” adds values, the comparison operator “=” compares two values to determine whether they’re equal, and the concatenation operator “&” joins two strings. For more information about each kind of operator, search for “arithmetic operator,”, “comparison operator,” or “concatenation operator” in Formulas and Functions Help.
