Intro to device management services in Apple Business Manager
Assigning a device to a device management service is a setting that the service applies the next time a device goes through Setup Assistant. Those devices use Automated Device Enrollment, allowing the device to enroll during initial setup. Assigning a device management service doesn’t affect a current enrollment of a device.
You can also add devices to an organization at the time of purchase or through Apple Configurator, and assign them to a device management service. Organizations can have multiple services.
