If you see duplicate songs in iTunes

If you see duplicate versions of songs that you purchased in your iTunes library, learn what to do.

Turn off iCloud Music Library, then turn it back on

If duplicate songs unexpectedly appear in iTunes, you can restart iCloud Music Library if you subscribe to Apple Music or iTunes Match. Just follow these steps:

  1. On your Mac or PC, update to the latest version of iTunes.
  2. Open iTunes.
  3. On your Mac, go to the menu bar at the top of your screen, then choose iTunes > Preferences. On your PC, choose Edit > Preferences.
  4. In the General tab, turn off iCloud Music Library.
  5. Quit iTunes, then open iTunes.
  6. On your Mac, go to the menu bar at the top of your screen, then choose iTunes > Preferences. On your PC, choose Edit > Preferences.
  7. In the General tab, turn on iCloud Music Library.
