If you can't find or install the Apple Music app on Android

There is a known issue that prevents Apple Music and other apps from appearing in the Google Play Store when some devices use certain screen resolution settings. If you do find Apple Music in the Google Play Store on affected devices, you might see an error message that says Apple Music is not compatible with your device.

If you can't find Apple Music or Google Play reports that it is not compatible with your device, try changing your resolution settings on your Android device using the steps below. You can also download the app directly from the Apple website.

Change your resolution settings

  1. On your Android device, go to Settings > Display > Screen Resolution.
The path to get to Screen Resolution settings might be different on your device.
  2. Set the screen resolution to the default setting for your device. If you're not sure which is the default, try FHD+. If FHD+ doesn't work, try WQHD+.
  3. Clear your cache and data from the Google Play Store. Learn how to clear an app's cache and data.
  4. Open the Google Play Store app on your device and search for Apple Music.

If you still can't find or install the Apple Music app, reset your settings to reset the display preferences.

When you clear the Google Play Store's cache and data, some of your app settings might change. Be sure to verify your settings afterward.
