Some Xsan features aren’t supported on clients of StorNext MDCs
Learn which Xsan features aren’t supported on these clients, and under which configurations.
When you access a storage area network (SAN) volume that runs on Quantum StorNext metadata controllers (MDCs), these Xsan features aren’t supported:
Versions
File system quotas, if the StorNext MDC is Windows-based
Case-insensitive volumes, if the MDC runs StorNext 5.3 or earlier
Native extended attributes, if the MDC runs StorNext 4.2 or earlier
Project-oriented quotas, if the MDC runs StorNext 4.2 or earlier and the client runs Xsan 2.2.2 or earlier
File system ACLs are supported only in these configurations:
The StorNext MDC runs on Linux and has only Xsan clients.
The StorNext MDC runs on Linux and has StorNext Windows and Xsan clients.
The StorNext MDC runs on Windows and has StorNext Windows and Xsan clients.
The StorNext MDC runs on Linux and has Xsan clients, StorNext Windows clients, and Linux StorNext clients, where the Linux clients are running StorNext 5.4 or later.
