Change Profiles Window settings in Terminal on Mac

Title

To change the title of a Terminal window, enter a name in the field.

Use the title option checkboxes to select the information that appears in the title bar of a Terminal window.

• Working directory or document: Displays the working directory or document name.

• Path: Displays the directory or document path.

• Active process name: Displays the active process name.

• Arguments: Displays the arguments.

• Shell command name: Displays the name of the running shell command.

• Profile name: Displays the name of the window’s profile.

• TTY name: Displays the terminal name.

• Dimensions: Displays the size of the window.

• Command key: Displays the command key you can use to make the window active.

Window Size

To set the width and height of a Terminal window, enter the number of columns and rows you want.

Scrollback

To set a limit to the number of rows in the Terminal window that you can scroll back through, click “Limit number of rows to,” then enter the new limit.

Resume

Change window restore options.

• Restore text when reopening windows: Restores the text from a previous app session so you can continue where you left off.

• Limit number of restored rows to: Sets the number of rows to restore when a window is reopened.

• Insert bookmark after restored text: Inserts a bookmark after the restored rows to help you quickly find and navigate to it.

Minimized Windows

To display information about minimized windows in the Dock, select “Display status and current contents in the Dock.”
