Change Files preferences in Music on Mac

In the Music app on your Mac, use the Files pane in Music preferences to set and organize your Music Media folder.

To change these preferences, choose Music > Preferences, then click Files.

Open Music for me

Option				Description
Music Media folder location				Select the Music Media folder location, where songs and other files you import into Music are located. Change: Choose a folder other than the original location, Music\Music. Reset: Choose to reset to the original location.
Keep Music Media folder organized				Automatically move imported music into folders for album and artist.
Copy files to Music Media folder when adding to library				Copy an item to the Music Media folder when you drag the item to the Music window. See Add files to your library but not to your Music folder.
Import Settings				Change the file format and other settings for songs you import from CDs. See Change import settings.
