Change Siri preferences on Mac
On your Mac, use Siri preferences to choose a language and voice, turn voice feedback on or off, and manage which apps show Siri Suggestions based on how you use the app. Learn how to use Siri on your Mac.
To open Siri preferences, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Siri .

Allow Siri when locked (available when Listen for “Hey Siri” is turned on) | Allow Siri to be available even if your Mac is locked or in sleep. Just say “Hey Siri,” then make your request. Depending on your request, you may need to unlock your Mac. | ||||||||||
Keyboard Shortcut | Choose a shortcut to activate Siri or create your own (choose Customize, then press the keys you want to use). | ||||||||||
Language | Change the language and dialect to use with Siri. Siri isn’t available in all languages or countries or regions. | ||||||||||
Voice Variety | Choose the variation of voices that appear in the Siri Voice option. Some languages may not have a variety of voices. | ||||||||||
Siri Voice | Choose a preferred voice for Siri. Some languages may only have one voice. | ||||||||||
Voice Feedback | Select whether or not to hear voice feedback (spoken responses) from Siri. If you turn feedback off, the response from Siri is shown in the Siri window but isn’t spoken. | ||||||||||
Siri History | Delete Siri and Dictation interactions you’ve performed on this Mac from Siri servers. See Delete Siri and Dictation history. | ||||||||||
Show Siri in menu bar | Show the Siri icon in the menu bar so you can quickly activate Siri. You can also use Dock & Menu Bar preferences to show Siri in the menu bar. | ||||||||||
