App compatibility

When you modify a Final Cut Pro effect, transition, title, or generator in Motion or send a project from Final Cut Pro to Compressor, both apps must be either part of Apple Creator Studio or one-time purchases. See the Apple Creator Studio webpage.

You can use custom effect, transition, title, or generator templates created in either version of Motion with either version of Final Cut Pro.
