Character Viewer

The Character Viewer appears in the Input menu in the menu bar. When you choose Show Emoji & Symbols, a chart appears that allows quick access to various symbols, emoji, accented letters, and other special characters. The window remains open until you choose Hide Emoji & Symbols from the Input menu or close the window.

If you don’t see Show Emoji & Symbols in the Input menu, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, click Keyboard, click Keyboard, then select “Show keyboard and emoji viewers in menu bar.”
