Mac mini (2024) Power Button

Before You Begin

Remove the following part before you begin:

Tools

  • Torque driver (blue, 0.65 kgf cm)

  • Torx Plus 2IP 25 mm half-moon bit

Refer to a full list of tools required for all repairs.

Removal

  1. Use the blue torque driver and 2IP bit to remove the four 2IP screws (923-12082) from the power button board on the bottom cover.

  2. Lift the power button board off the bottom cover.

  3. Remove the power button from the bottom cover.

Reassembly

  1. Position the power button in the bottom cover.

    • Important: Ensure that the power button is correctly positioned as shown.

  2. Position the power button board over the power button and align the screw holes in the power button board with the screw holes in the bottom cover.

  3. Use the blue torque driver and 2IP bit to reinstall the four 2IP screws (923-12082) into the power button board.

  4. Turn over the bottom cover to check that the power button is flush with the top of the bottom cover. Then press the power button to ensure that it clicks.

Reinstall the following part to complete reassembly:
