Record the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

In Control Center, you can start a screen recording and capture sound on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

How to record your screen

  1. Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen.

  2. Tap the gray Record buttongray record icon, then wait for the three-second countdown. If you don't see the Record button, add it to your Control Center.

  3. Exit Control Center to record your screen.

  4. To stop recording, tap the Screen Recording buttonNo alt supplied for Image at the top of your screen, then tap the Stop buttonNo alt supplied for Image. Or open Control Center and tap the red Record buttonred record icon.

To find your recording, open the Photos app and select your screen recording in your Library.

Some apps might not allow you to record audio or video. You can't record your screen and use screen mirroring at the same time.

Record your screen with audio

  1. Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen.

  2. Tap and hold the gray Record button. If you don't see the Record button, add it to your Control Center.

  3. Tap the Microphone button to turn it on.

  4. Tap the gray Record button, then wait for the three-second countdown.

  5. Exit Control Center to record your screen.

  6. To stop recording, tap the Screen Recording button at the top of your screen, then tap the Stop button. Or open Control Center and tap the red Record button.
