OS X Server: How to renew expired push certificates

If the certificate you use with the Apple Push Notification service (APNs) has expired, you can renew it using OS X Server.

You can upgrade to OS X Server (Yosemite) to automatically renew your expired push certificates.

If you are using OS X Server (Mavericks) you can use these steps to renew any push notification certificates that have expired:

  1. Open the OS X Server app.

  2. Select your server in the Server app sidebar, then click Settings.

  3. Click the Edit button next to the “Enable Apple push notifications” option.

  4. Enter your organization's Apple ID in the sheet that appears, then click Renew to renew the expired certificate.

  5. Deselect (uncheck) the “Enable Apple push notifications” option.

  6. Select (check) the “Enable Apple push notifications” option.
