Important
Complete back glass removal steps 1 through 5. Then continue to step 1.
Removal
Use a torque driver and the trilobe bit to remove seven trilobe screws, two from the battery connector cowling, two from the FaceTime camera cowling, and three from the logic board upper cowling. Remove the cowlings and save them for reassembly. Then complete the entire step before continuing to the next step.

Lift the ends of the battery flex cable (1), back glass flex cable (2), and FaceTime camera flex cable (3) off the connectors.

Hold the back glass by the edges. Pull the tab on the suction cup to release it from the back glass. Then set the back glass facedown on a clean, flat surface.
Start from the top left corner and use the black stick to lift the FaceTime camera out of the enclosure. Place the camera cap on the camera.
Note: Note the location of the adhesive in the enclosure. If the adhesive is removed with the FaceTime camera, it will need to be replaced in reassembly.

Clean any residual adhesive from the enclosure.
Caution: If you're reinstalling the FaceTime camera, check the camera to see if the adhesive is intact and not wrinkled. If the adhesive isn't present or is wrinkled, replace the adhesive. If you're installing a new FaceTime camera, peel the adhesive liners from the replacement FaceTime camera before installing.
Remove the camera cap. Position the FaceTime camera in the enclosure.

Press the end of the FaceTime camera flex cable to the connector. Press the camera for 20 seconds to activate the adhesive.

Position the FaceTime camera cowling and logic board upper cowling as shown.

Use the gray torque driver and trilobe bit to install two new trilobe screws (923-16049) (E3, E4) into the FaceTime camera cowling.
Note: If you're reinstalling the FaceTime camera after completing a volume buttons, enclosure, inner display assembly, or logic board repair, skip this step and continue to step 6.
