Run manual and diagnostic tests
If the issue wasn’t resolved by following a support article or trying the quick troubleshooting steps, run these diagnostic and manual tests to help isolate the cause of the issue:
Follow all steps in If your iPhone won't turn on or the screen is black to attempt to place the device in recovery mode. If an image appears in recovery mode, connect the device using a functioning cable to a computer running the latest version of macOS. If the device is recognized by the computer, then the device has power. Restore the device if prompted.
Follow repair manual procedures to open the device and disconnect the battery. Use a compatible charge cable to connect the iPhone to a power adapter that’s plugged into an electrical outlet. Don’t use a computer port or wireless charging. Attempt to turn on the iPhone with the battery disconnected. If the Apple logo appears on the iPhone screen with the battery disconnected, then battery replacement is recommended. If the iPhone remains off and unresponsive, then the issue is likely unrelated to the battery.
Open and inspect the iPhone
If the issue wasn’t resolved or isolated by following support articles or running diagnostics tests, refer to the iPhone repair manual to open and inspect the iPhone. A damaged or out-of-place part may be causing one of the issue.
Follow repair manual procedures to open the device.
Disconnect the flex cable connecting the battery to the logic board.
Examine the connector for signs of damage or debris.
If the connector appears normal and not damaged, reconnect the flex cable. Gently reseat the connector by lightly pressing on it with two fingers.
Reassemble by installing any removed parts and closing the device.
Retest the device for power and battery using wired charger, then wireless charger to isolate charging from power on issue.

Important: Devices with a nongenuine or unknown battery may exhibit the following symptoms:
False failures with MagSafe or wireless charging
MagSafe isn't detected
Unexpected shutdowns
Charging issues where the device doesn't charge above 1 percent
If any or all of the symptoms above are present, check MRI results. If MRI results show an unknown battery flag with MagSafe failures such as MagSafe not being detected, or charging issues where the device doesn't charge above 1 percent, battery replacement is recommended. If replacing the battery doesn't resolve these issues, continue troubleshooting. If the issue is unrelated to these symptoms, continue troubleshooting
Note: Battery and charge indicators may fluctuate briefly when you connect the iPhone to power or wake it from sleep. If this happens, wait a few seconds. Then check it again. The battery percentage may remain at 99 percent with a full charge, which doesn’t indicate a battery or hardware issue. Refer to iPhone battery and performance for more information.
