Add money to Apple Pay Cash

With just a few taps, you can add money to your Apple Pay Cash balance.1

This feature is available with the iOS public beta from the Apple Beta Software Program.

     

How to add money

After you set up Apple Pay Cash, you can add money to your balance using the debit or prepaid cards2 that you already use with Apple Pay in Wallet

  1. Go to your card info:
    • iPhone: Open the Wallet app, tap your Apple Pay Cash card, then tap 
    • iPad: Open the Settings app, tap Wallet & Apple Pay, then tap your Apple Pay Cash card.
    • Apple Watch: Use the steps for your iPhone.
  2. On the Info tab, tap Add Money. 
  3. Enter an amount. The minimum is $10.
  4. Tap Add, then confirm the U.S. debit or prepaid card2 that you want to use to add money. To use a different debit or prepaid card, tap  next to your card, then choose a card. 
  5. When you’re ready, confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode.

You can see your updated balance in the upper-right corner. To make sure that your balance is updating, you need a cellular or Wi-Fi connection. 

How to view your balance

  • iPhone: Open the Wallet app, then tap your Apple Pay Cash card. 
  • iPad: Open the Settings app, tap Wallet & Apple Pay, then tap your Apple Pay Cash card.
  • Apple Watch: Double-click the side button and swipe to your Apple Pay Cash card.

You can also check your Apple Pay Cash balance on your Apple ID account page.

  1. Sending and receiving money with Apple Pay and the Apple Pay Cash card are services provided by Green Dot Bank, Member FDIC. Learn more about the Terms and Conditions.
  2. You can't add money to your Apple Pay Cash card using a credit card, and you might not be able to use some prepaid cards. You can't add money from a gift card, even if it's already in Wallet.
