Use AirPods with Apple Vision Pro

Learn how to get the best experience when using headphones with your Apple Vision Pro.

Apple Vision Pro has built-in audio pods positioned next to each ear to deliver personalized sound while letting you hear what’s around you.

You can also connect Apple Vision Pro to AirPods or Beats headphones for a different audio experience — for example, if you need the noise-cancelling capabilities of AirPods Pro.

Connect AirPods to Apple Vision Pro

If you already have AirPods that you've paired with another Apple device — and if you're signed in to the same Apple ID on that device and Apple Vision Pro — your Apple Vision Pro connects automatically to your AirPods.

Just put your AirPods in your ears, and a notification in Vision Pro tells you that your AirPods are connected. If your AirPods are playing audio from another device, like your iPhone, and you put your Apple Vision Pro on, you'll be asked if you want to connect your AirPods to Apple Vision Pro.

To switch to your AirPods manually, follow these steps:

  1. Look up, then tap the Control Center expand menu button near the top of your view to open Control Center.

  2. Tap the Control Center ButtonNo alt supplied for Image to see more options.

  3. Tap the Now Playing button.

  4. In the Now Playing window that appears, select your AirPods.

If you have new AirPods that you haven't paired to any Apple device yet, you can pair them to Apple Vision Pro in Bluetooth settings:

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth.

  2. Put both AirPods in the charging case and open the lid.

  3. Press and hold the setup button on the back of the AirPods case until the status light flashes white.

  4. Select the AirPods when they appear under Other Devices.

Adjust AirPods settings with Apple Vision Pro

When your AirPods are connected to your Apple Vision Pro, you can go to Control Center to adjust some of the settings that are supported by your AirPods, such as noise-control modes.

  1. Look up, then tap the Control Center expand menu button near the top of your view to open Control Center.

  2. Tap the Control Center buttonNo alt supplied for Image to see more options.

  3. Pinch and hold the white circle that appears in the AirPods volume slider.

  4. Customize the settings that are available for your AirPods model.

You can adjust volume using either the Digital Crown on the Apple Vision Pro or the volume control that's built in to your AirPods Pro. If you've connected AirPods Max to your Apple Vision Pro, adjust the volume using the Digital Crown on the Apple Vision Pro, not on the headphones.

For the full range of settings available for AirPods on Apple Vision Pro, go to Settings > Bluetooth, then tap the More Info buttonNo alt supplied for Image next to your AirPods.

Connect Beats and other headphones to Apple Vision Pro

Some models of Beats headphones will connect to your Apple Vision Pro automatically if you've already paired the Beats wth another Apple device that's signed in to the same Apple ID as your Vision Pro.

To connect your Beats if they don't connect automatically, follow these steps:

  1. Follow the instructions that came with the headphones to put them in discovery mode.

  2. On Apple Vision Pro, go to Settings > Bluetooth, make sure Bluetooth is on, then tap the name of the headphones that you want to connect.

If you have Beats Studio Pro headphones and they don't appear in Settings > Bluetooth, you can connect to them in Settings > Accessibility > Hearing Devices.

You can also connect to many third-party Bluetooth headphones and supported hearing devices in Settings > Accessibility > Hearing Devices.
