You can earn points when you provide helpful content, such as quality answers and User Tips or when community members upvote content they find helpful. Content can also be downvoted, but downvotes don't decrease points or hurt your reputation.

Write a high-quality reply

When you write a reply to a question in the Apple Support Community, you’re not just helping one person—you’re creating a resource for customers worldwide. Each answer becomes a lasting solution that supports users at every stage of their self-solve journey. Your expertise plays a key role in building a stronger, more informed community.

After your reply is evaluated, points are awarded as outlined below for those replies identified as high-quality contributions. The most effective high-quality replies consistently demonstrate these key characteristics:

  • Directly answers the original poster's question

  • Provides actionable steps that clearly move the customer toward a solution

  • Offers appropriate detail and context without being overwhelming

  • Ensures content is safe, accurate, and reliable

  • Maintains a clear, professional, and easy-to-follow format and tone

  • Includes helpful relevant links or resources, when appropriate

Earn points

When you actively participate in the Apple Support Community, you can earn points and get recognition for sharing quality content. Here’s what you can do to earn points and how many points you’ll get.

1 point each time a logged-in member marks your question as “Me too” (up to 15 points per question)

Your question is upvoted.

1 point each time a logged-in member upvotes your question (up to 15 points per question)

Your reply is upvoted.

6 points each time a logged-in member upvotes your reply (up to 30 points per reply)

Your User Tip is upvoted.

10 points each time a logged-in member upvotes your User Tip (up to 200 points per User Tip)

You create a post to ask a question.

4 points (one time only, per member)

You reply to another member's question.

8 points (one time only, per member)

You provide a quality reply to another member’s question.

10 points are awarded to the first three replies per question that are identified as high-quality replies

You attend an Apple Support Community conference call (for Level 4 users and above).

10 points (each time)

You attend a community meet up (for Level 6 users and above).

25 points (each time)
