Archived - iTunes 11.1.5: Unable to Airplay to Apple TV

When you try to AirPlay from iTunes 11.1.5, you may encounter this error message:

"An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device [Apple TV name]. You do not have permission to access the requested resource.
Make sure the AirPlay device is powered on and its network settings are correct, then try again."


iTunes 11.1.5 doesn't support verifying new devices on Apple TV software 6.1 or later. To disable device verification, go to Settings > AirPlay > Security > Verify New Device > Off.   

To securely connect AirPlay to your Apple TV and use iTunes, use either “Onscreen Code” or “Password” from the Security settings on the Apple TV.
